Cafe Etico Winter 2023 Newsletter
Phew! The end of 2022 was hectic - and there's no slowing down!
Giving to our community
With support from the BC Teachers' Federation and the International Longshore & Warehouse Union - Local 500, Café Etico has been able to donate 425 lbs of ground Nicaraguan Dark coffee to food security programs, and the clients and guests of organizations in need in Vancouver's Downtown East Side (DTES). Carol, Nancy, and Anne say "thanks" to all of you who stopped by to pick up your favourite Café Etico coffee or chocolate (and other treats!), or to just to say "hello" and have a chat.
This is the second year for our Coffee in Community project and we are proudly providing coffee to our neighbours at: DTES Neighbourhood House, DTES Women's Centre, Kiwassa Neighbourhood House, WISH Drop-in Centre & Shelter, and the food security program at Watari.
It's not too late to participate! Contact us if you would like to contribute to our Coffee in Community project.
Come and see us at…
It's wonderful to be able to see all of you again!

Commitment to a living wage
Café Etico has recertified with the Living Wage for Families Campaign as a Living Wage Employer in 2023!
As an ethical and socially responsible organization, we are committed to paying a living wage to all our employees, because we value their hard work, dedication, and contribution to our success. Therefore, we pledge to provide our employees with fair and just compensation that meets or exceeds the basic needs of living, including food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and education. We believe that paying a living wage is not only the right thing to do but also essential for creating a sustainable and equitable future.

Cuban coffee is back!
After a bit of a hiatus, we have brought in approximately 260 lbs of Cuban green beans, and we are thrilled to once again offer you Cuban Dark roasted beans and our amazing Espresso Blend.
Our Cuban coffee beans are grown in the Sierra Maestra Mountain area, whose mountainous terrain and ideal climate provide the perfect conditions for growing these high-quality beans with a distinct taste and aroma.
